WORMS

Will worms replace the bug collecting? I doubt it, but he sure does love worm hunting with his dad. This is the one action from Jacob that Julia hasn't duplicated in 5 seconds. Although, she's curious! I'm ok with her just being silly while her brother does all the work.

Double ear infection and antibiotics!

You never know what you are going to get when you take your kids to Urgent care or even the doctor's office. This time   Todd accompanied me to urgent care where we were shaking our heads in the waiting room as our kids were climbing all over the chairs and playing peek a boo behind the poles. I was beginning to think I misjudged Julia's pathetic face as she awoke with a fever and a was shaking as she was trying to have a morning bm:( or how she complained about her ear as she was trying to lay down last night, or her sweet little "love you mom" that came in the middle of the night as I was finishing my second chick flick on the couch with the two little sickos. Needless to say, both ears were red and Jacob's cough was treatable with antibiotics and cough syrup? Well, we took the diagnosis and prescriptions and added an hour long trip to Target to make our Sunday morning a little more unproductive. No worries, it was rainy and cold out anyways.

Let's just say...the medicine makes for one hyper 4 year old, one crabby 2 year old and one mommy who needs a break!
Even though things are a little off right now you are still pretty cute!

Collections...

Collections continued...
This one has lasted since spring break and keeps growing. It first started with little rocks, there were some acorns, taffy and mints purchased at the gas station from our trip, little animals got thrown in the mix, bottle caps, dollars, coins, and that's it. Well I'm sure there is more...I'll go take another picture and we can show how it's grown. We did organize it a little better the other day. I love when you get something sweet you don't even think to eat it; rather you march up the stairs and put it into your collection.

In fact, it's rather odd to see you wolf down some chocolates. Which you have some on occasion. Right now you seem to like cookie and cream chocolate and prefer gummy bears in cotton candy ice cream.

I just love watching you. I love how you asked your friend the other day if he wanted to listen to one of your favorite songs...I went outside to visit with my friends and didn't hear the final choice.

I love how you protected your baby sister from being the target of the squishy wet balls the other day. You used your words and told Lloyd she was littler than him and she needed to have some turns too. Then you followed it up with a shot from the nerf disc gun...to which he cried and you told me later that it doesn't hurt when you get shot.

One morning you weren't feeling well so you stayed home for church with dad and went worm hunting instead. I'm glad dad got to have a moment like that with you. However, I'd be ok of you don't have a worm collection. Especially when they freeze in the snow and get dried out in the sun...not exactly easy to care for.

"Mom to be done with school, amen."

The prayer captured the feelings of all. I never minded traveling to Des Moines to sit in a classroom all weekend to learn about things I was interested in. However, Jacob and Julia would have rather I stayed put. Luckily enough I was able to complete my Master's degree at Drake with only an additional 17 credits added to the 15 I completed prior to Julia's birth. Anyhoo, I loved my experience there but love the fact that I can really focus on my two little ones. Here's a glimpse of what dad is up to when I'm away!

Beach day 4

A trip to Grundy

Easter

Easter preparation consisted of 5 dozen eggs being dyed (3 dozen yellow and 2 dozen "pink ones"). You had a total of 4 egg hunts before Easter and 2 on Easter. None of which were from our actual Easter bunny because it was raining outside in the morning. You were indifferent because you were enamored with the "rabbit droppings" left by the Easter Bunny. In fact, Julia was eating them off the floor and greeted Grandma and Pa with a chocolate mustache!

Julia had to go and wake Jacob up that morning...and luckily he woke up in a good mood and was a trooper all day.
