Happy

I don't have enough pictures to express how I feel...but there have been so many moments in these two short weeks that just make me feel happy.
You two have handled this move like a dream!

I'm happy you have rooms to grow into instead of out.

happy that you love your new bathroom and each have a sink to brush your teeth in at the same time.

I'm happy that I don't miss out on anything when I'm in the kitchen and you are in your rooms or in the family room.

I'm happy that the piano has the proper space to be played and heard.

I'm happy that you love to grab your net and pole before the tv remote...and even happy you'd grab it when it's time for bed.(sorta)

I'm happy that you can hop on your bikes and I don't have to load them up and take you somewhere to let you ride them safely.

I'm happy that we have places to explore

I'm happy that the kitchen is a kid friend kitchen..."oh my back" (where have you heard this?)

I'm happy that we have met some really wonderful neighbors. The first one welcomed you to their yard and me to a glass of wine. On our side of the street you have some of the nicest children that will ride your bus, and enjoy hockey, basketball and bike rides. Another neighbor introduced us to a new friend for Julia, and boy were the two of you happy.

Now last night we shot off fireworks with friends across the lake and dad got to have a night with just the guys when I took you back home for bed. Thank goodness for a neighbor who saved us with fried rice for lunch:)

Oh wait, did I mention the cat and a dinner date on the fourth?

New Kids on the block

Let's just say we picked a good house. I'm pretty sure you guys made that statement the first time you saw it back in April. We didn't even know what was in store for us if we decided to move...we had a good idea but really didn't know it would be this easy to make a home ours again.
Now when will the new kids on the block feeling wear off?!
At first it was a summer crush with Paisy across the lake, and now it's daily knocks on the door from the two house just a hop skip and a jump of two yards away!

An added bonus was a quick visit from your cousins...and two uncles that managed to have the energy to play you and the crew in hockey!

We still need to find the perfect match for Julia...or just praise the heck out of you when you include her and are kind and sweet like a big brother should be!

Alice Ave.

Welcome to your new pad. Our new adventure. Our new favorite fishing spot.
Our new space for birthday celebrations and Christmas along with all the other holidays! I'm excited and lucky you guys feel the same.
Baklava...given to us from the sellers as a tradition to make "sweet memories" in our new house. It worked! I have already had a handful and we aren't even unpacked or settled.

My new favorite views:

Not to mention all the smiles that come from the happy fishermen!

Bullfrog

This week has been a pretty good catch so far and we haven't even gone fishing! It started with some snails and a up cycled habitat, a net and a couple months and dragonfly, and then a road trip to catch a couple tad poles. Who would have thought we'd wind up catching this frog!
Shortly after this smile, you had to hold the back tears when you watched it escape...oops.

The whole next day you spent 1/2 of your spare minutes trying to catch another. Not sure how we got that guy and can't believe there are even bigger ones to catch than that.

Last day of Kindergarten

What a sweet first year of school we had! Thanks to Velcro shoes and a morning routine we never missed the bus! Even the mornings where I wanted you to sleep in and I'd drop you off, you elected to get ready in record time and catch a ride to school. (Thank goodness)

This year your favorite classmate was a girl named Charly. Thank goodness she's moving too and so that makes our decision to move and put you in a different school, even easier.

For lunch, you ate an assortment of fresh fruit, a "school bar", tomatoes or peas, a few triscuits or goldfish crackers and a water. You grew tired of cheese sticks, Babel cheeses, PBJ and yogurt making them a thing of the past.
"Side kick" slushies were the hook that got you started on hot lunch a few days a month. But man, you didn't lose your lunch box, or reusable containers that I had bought back ups in case you did. Your lunch box and blue folder made it to your back pack every day! Thank you!

As for your favorite part of the day...who knows. You seem to be most proud of your coloring and not the fact that you are reading, and doing mental math.
So lucky me! I get to keep you going all summer long and need to keep you motivated to want to learn. (So glad your teacher dos that for me this year!)
.

Your dad hooked you up with the sweetest and most thoughtful treasure hunt to reveal your "Kindergarten" treat...hopefully it will keep you motivated to work hard all summer and go to first grade right on track! (Doubt it)
However, I hope it helps with the transition of the houses and having something to show your new neighbor buddies. (Most likely)

Thanks bud, for a great first year! You made us proud!
