In May

I think these things happened in May?!

Said good luck to Victor the service dog!

Parents were invited to your classroom to see what you have been up to

Tulips bloomed and we planted the “best garden”around the mailbox for Mother’s Day

You know how to make us crazy at night!

It was beach day at school...I love the details you provide me with, Julia!

You two became the Greatest Showman!

You are playing baseball? So breaking a glove in seems to be the trick!

Buster has been with us a year and love everyone but I’m still his favorite.

A planter outside my kitchen window so I can look at flowers for 50% of my day and have a nice reminder to water:)

You managed to make it to school by 8:04 most days to get your laps in before school! Wow! I didn’t know we could do it and thankful the weather cooperated! Thank you for giving your sister attention and encouraging her-now that doesn’t happen every day!

It didn’t take you very long to catch a frog this year!

Got to sit in on Josh’s graduation and listen to an unbelievable message from my brother

Squeezed in your last trip to the Magi House

Got to see Mary graduate

Caught the cutest little turtle

Made it to field day!

Reconnected with busy neighbors

Had a couple movie nights!

Mother’s Day

Thank you Julia for these sweet and artful presents! Your success in kindergarten was the best gift along with the play by plays you would give me. (I heard nothing about school from your brother) I’m pretty sure last year at this time I was feeling like quite the failure because you could care less about working on anything to do with school. Your kindergarten teacher had nothing but kind things to say about you all year-I can’t thank you enough.

I’m growing up

Growing up seems to be the theme for you in April. You have always been mature for your age and I’m ok if it equals out right now because I’m not ready for you to start acting any older.

You are requesting earrings, faux hair and sleepovers. On the way to the concert you announced that everyone will see your boobs because you forgot to wear your sports bra. At school your teacher asks you to help others who are scared of the fire alarm and are often the spy because you are the one who can stay quiet when asked! Lately, I have been able to braid your hair but if you have time you will add your own twist. Jean shorts have been the item requested to be washed and ready to go for school. You like cute shirts and still sport your cowgirl boots on occasion!

Even though you are changing right before our eyes I just want to enjoy you. I have a feeling this is one of my last years that you will want to do anything with me. Instead of baking you’d rather be playing with the neighbor girls, so I will have to treasure the time we had together. Maybe if I give you a little less mothering in the kitchen you’ll want to use your imagination in the kitchen instead of with your friends.

May Day

How is it May already? The grass is starting to turn green, color is popping onto the tree branches and shoots are poking out of the ground. Today was the first day we delivered May baskets. I have been wanting to do this since we moved here in 2002...but it wasn’t until 2 kids later and a neighborhood full of friends that we could try out the ding dong ditch while leaving a cup of popcorn and an icecream come cupcake.

I’d say you guys had fun and eventually figured out that it was more fun to do it together instead of arguing over which one got to do which house!!
