Lately, you have shown many signs of growing older and just a little bit taller. I measured you and Julia the other day to find that you both have grown a total of 3 inches in six months. Your last year pajamas are evident of your growth and now your fall wind pants are looking like they are a size too small. Your little hands still reach for the ear or soft skin on occasion. Let's not forget your fingers that love to strum the guitar or tap anything in sight. Especially your little crooked one. I don't want to forget the feeling I have holding your small little hand in mine or your next to nothing wrist. It blows my mind to think about you getting older and not needing me to make sure you are safe in the parking lot or grabbing you to help you climb through or over an obstacle.
I would like to think I'll be there to help you through all obstacles, but the truth is I won't. I pray that I/we are preparing you to deal with life the best way possible. I love my happy Jacob. You are a
5 year old that solves problems, shows concern, looks to share and be generous, laughs, shares memories, and loves to be around those who love you.
You are active and love playing with others. This summer you almost got the concept of base running, ha! Now this fall you are asking questions while watching football, hockey and basketball.
Your dad has done a great job introducing you to music and pointing out that you have rhthym and the beat! Your voice is pretty sweet, especially when you were at SAMS the other day singing "away in the manger" as if you had a stage all to your self, which you did.
I seem to just be rambling on Jacob, but I'm trying to write down all my memories. I love your belly laugh and when you offer to help your sister out. I love it when tonight at Stephanie's you saw Chinese out on the table and you said, we are staying here for breakfast! I love how you ask for something healthy or something to eat and follow it up with whatever you get me...although 75% of the time you don't want what I offer or bring!
I love how you work the remote and music console. I love listening to you bark orders that you have heard from me over and over...not really. I love how you offered to sit next to your friend when he said he was scared of the movie the other night.
Love you and all that you bring to our family.
