Program, pub and a piece if ice

Tonight was a big night for you, Jacob.
It was your last Christmas concert for preschool. In order for it to go smoothly we needed to run you guys around at the gym, make sure you both nap, talk up your "nice" clothes and warn both of you that you will be changing clothes to look nice like all the other kids tonight. Check, check and check.
Let's just say we almost didn't get out the door because someone refused to take off their sweat pants and trade them in for pants like "daddy".
Anyhoo, we made it to church on time and your performance was so cute. I swear we could see your dimples from the balcony as you waved to us several times!
The songs were ones that fit 3-5 yr old voices and attention span. They were intermingled with the message told in the form of the story by sweet innocent little voices that made me a little tearry eyed.

I grew up going to Dairy Queen after special performances. So tonight you picked the toad place. Thankfully I told you we might catch a glimpse of Santa and horse carriage...but the lines would be too long (which would keep us from playing games, right!) Well they bought it and no one seemed to mind they weren't getting one or the other.

Before we headed inside for dinner you guys caught your first experience with ice statues. You got to see it in the making and I wasn't sure we'd get you to the pub.
After dinner and the added excitement of seeing some friends there, we bundled you up to check out the finished product. On our way there we ran into the man in red! BONUS!!!
I attempted a picture with three people in it, but Julia wouldn't leave my side.
Instead this is what we got and the best part of the night was a chunk of ice!

Thankfully the statue was still in tack after these pictures...Jacob, you couldn't keep your hands off of it!
