3 year old check up

Oops. I forgot to log this one from back in February. While we are on the topic of 3 year old Julia let's just say "your killin' me smalls!" You are heavy! Thankfully you fall asleep in your own bed and can climb in your car seat when I'm patient enough.  You are still our 90/90 baby and it will be interesting to see what you grow up to be. Your biscuits are so plump and squishy, your legs are solid and well your belly, it's your belly! Who knows what it would look like if you got to fill up on processed sugary foods daily. I'm so thankful you love to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables.
Well, you sure got a lot of complements on the beach for how cute you are:) so that's all that matters, right?!

3 yr old stats:
41 lbs
39 3/4 inches
You wear 4T pants but they are getting snug
5T shirts fit best
Love to sing " Tomorrow" " Let it go" " Everyday"
Make up crazy names for your babies
Do not like your hair brushed
Only allow a barret
Love a good sandwich
Still have trouble remembering your age
"Now I know my letters"- at the end of the alphabet song
Prefer jeans

February 2015

Julia, you are surprising me with how "brave" you are! Not only did you stay in Sunday school the whole time, you wanted to do it again the following week! Not to mention you came home excited about all the songs you sang! "Yes, sir!"

This month you...
- had a movie night with Morgan, our new babysitter and you didn't even cry.

- Brought Valentines to Dad at school...well sort of. Played in the dome, is more like it.

Classic moment when you called or named your baby "Marvin Singleton"

We had a family date to the hibachi grill in town on Valentine's day. It was a little chilly inside the restaurant, but the cold didn't curb your appetite! You both devoured your noodles and dad's fish!  Somehow I inhaled the sushi that we weren't suppose to order because of "my rules" or cheapness, thanks Todd. Love days are definitely more fun with the four of us to share the love.

Gave up your pacifier...and got a fish!

Your favorite people from St. Louis braved the cold and visited you for a longer amount of time this month. They even supported your new wardrobe and didn't make you dress warm to go to the game! Well, you layered and took your clothes off once you were inside .

I got some great deals on your wardrobe for this summer and next fall. It was fun picking them out with you Jacob. I can't believe how independent you have become when getting ready in the morning, or mid day or afternoon. You have been constantly changing your clothes throughout the day. I guess I just have to deal with it. We will call it your dress up clothes that you didn't get for Christmas, like your sister did!
Next month we will work on wearing underwear more than 25% of the time.

Were better at flying your helicopters than dad!

We got more snow at the end of the month, along with below freezing temps which cancelled morning preschool and made for one tired mom!

The snow didn't keep us from our last UNI home game. In fact you were able to sport your new socks from Pa and Grandma! Hopefully they will fit you next year!

It was also the month where you learned your numbers, Jacob. You especially grew to love and recognize the number 10...your favorite player, Seth Tuttle. Sadly you also learned what it means to graduate college and not be able to play for the UNI Panthers anymore.

Here's to warmer weather in the next few months. I'm getting close to going crazy...I think I can keep it together for 14 more days!

Next time...

Today was a very special day. That is if we can get through the next few days of no more pacifier, aka "mi-mi."
Yesterday, I acted as though I flushed one of your pacifiers down the toilet...and that's where you wanted to put the rest today. Of course, I pretended to do it yesterday and today I had to come up with a reason why you couldn't put them in the toilet yourself. Yikes...that's the last thing we want dad to do is fix another backed up toilet!

Anyhow, you were pretty adamant that you were done with them and wouldn't need them when you got tired today!
Wrong! You cried this afternoon for them...to the point where Jacob said he was tired of hearing you cry. I reassured you that it was ok to be sad for a couple days and then we moved on. We skipped naps and put in a DVD. Jacob requested Dumbo, and because you are so sweet you agreed:).

The rest of the night was normal. Dinner, ice cream, silliness with dad and Jacob and 6+ books and you were out. You didn't request your pacifier...but you did sit up and say "next time I want to get rid of my mi-mi...don't do it!"

Oh and how could the day be complete without mentioning the newest addition to the family! Welcome Fish, a female beta. In fact you told everyone his morning that you were getting a fish...and that's what we did.
I forgot to mention that you were ready to get rid of him before we even got in the door, because it was that time of the day and you would rather have your pacifier!

We ended the night with prayers. I said a little silent prayer. It went something like "Dear God, please help Julia give up her pacifier, but not her NAP!!!!"

"Love You, Daddy"

Julia, why do you love your daddy?
I love my daddy when he takes me to see Buddy Holly.
I love it when daddy tickles me.
I love when daddy takes us on adventures.
I like it when he takes me to basketball games.

Jacob, what do you love about your daddy?

I like it when he flies helicopters with me
I like it when he plays games with me

Thanks for being a good father, husband, son-in-law, and brother-in-law. Love you babe. Love- me;0

Smile for the camera

I'm sure I would be much better at taking pictures if I had two subjects that cooperated when the camera appeared. However, I don't want the camera to be in the way and miss all that comes with the moment. Although the camera sure helps us remember those moments a little better.
The story of you two began just after this first picture. I'm pretty sure some of the pictures below capture the love you two have for each other. Well, the pictures that  aren't staged or heaven forbid filled with a grin by uttering the words "cheese" show the love, silliness and happiness in your hearts.
