Guess what my favorite taste is?

"A stripe of caramel, then green apple, then cherry then a stripe of caramel and piƱa colada."

This was your idea for a new type of candy. You certainly had me smiling when sharing this on the way back from St. Louis.

I'm not convinced you have a sweet tooth like I did when I didn't know better. Although I do know that you have a thing for candy whether it be simply picking it out, sorting and buying it without eating.

Your trip to the dentist for your first filling was no big deal. Let's hope you get your dad's teeth...I was no stranger to the dentist chair.

As far as candy goes I never dreamed I would ever throw candy away...I never thought I would not load my kids up on kool-aide, juice or soda. You kids are fine without it. Hopefully this will help the visits to the dentist in the future.

Night walk

One of our favorite nights of our getaway was our first night walk on the beach. Flash lights in hand, you guys took to this new adventure with such excitement. Lucky for us, just 50 yards into our walk, you found a starfish!

The following day a girl caught you two hermit crabs! That made up for only catching one jelly fish this year.

Lesson Learned?

"Julia, what are you going to do when mom says go to the bathroom before a walk to the park?"

Your answer should be "ok mom" from here on out. It wasn't two minutes after our arrival to the park that you hopped off the  motarcycle and stood with your legs spread as far apart as you could without falling over in the wind! I've never seen wind have an affect like that.  The wind blew your pee to the west about 2 feet from where you were standing before it made the puddle in the sand. I was ready to head back because the sun was going down and it was cold. But you toughed it out and allowed your brother one quick run at the "alligator" game. Thank you for being such a trooper.

Oh Cheerios

This morning Jacob woke up using your "oh shut" line. Julia you quickly turned it into "oh Cheerios" and the next day "oh coconuts"

Eggcitement

This week I pulled out the Easter decorations and quickly put them up in disbelief that Easter will be here in less than 2 weeks! How did that happen? You guys didn't seem to care, in fact you didn't even want to help me hang the decorations up. However, once I got the baskets and plastic eggs out it didn't take long for you to request an egg hunt or egg dying event. How could I say no? Let's just call this the dry run in preparation for the real deal next weekend!

Plllittty please and Pampakes

To Little miss Julia,
Cute can go along way. It can get you a breakfast with a smiley face "pampake", cookies from a bake sale, Oreo cookies that your brother sneaks for you, ice cream cones, blue drinks, and an umbrella outside on a windy day. This week has been a long one and a busy one. Each day was filled with fun and a tired little Julia that showed more tears, pouty faces (thank your brother for that new look), and little girl that didn't want to accept the word no. I'm hoping it's because you haven't recovered from the trip and are in need of more sleep. Sleep in the afternoon that doesn't come so easily anymore. I'm crossing my fingers it doesn't last long and I can come up with more strategies to distract you and be patient one more week. Until then, I wil still love you and appreciate the good the bad and the ugly.

6 inches under

We spent 5 hours outside today cleaning up the yard. One of our discoveries was the ziplock bag with the dead lizard in it. This bag was placed on our deck in December, when Fox #1 was squashed by the log. Back then no one was too thrilled with the idea of going out and digging a hole. So when it disappeared it became buried in the snow and just dismissed. I don't remember if you asked where it was, and if you did, I just said an animal may have come and taken it!

It barely got covered with dirt because you were too busy hiding eggs.

Our little Getaway

You two make trips so easy. This time your energy lasted longer than ours, but kept me and your dad grinning from ear to ear. Here are a couple pics that will remind us of our perfect escape from the cold weather.
