It wasn't too long ago when you were calling bunnies "hop-hops", Jacob. Instead of "hop-hops" you woke this morning with the excitement of waking up Julia and Aunt La by shouting "The Easter Bunny came!".
Thankfully Julia didn't care that you were physically rolling her over and getting in her face to tell the news. And luckily Aunt La loves you enough that being pounced on is still cute and all the reason to get out of bed to witness the egg hunt in the backyard.
Your dad did a great job of making the hunt real and not like the practice ones you have been doing all week. He actually filled the eggs and left your favorite treats scattered around the yard.
You two couldn't have been more pleasant; sharing colors and making sure there were two of the things while hunting eggs out back. The weather was perfect and it was a glimpse of what the rest of the day would be like...hunting eggs and loading up on holiday sweets.
Julia, everyone couldn't get over that you kept going back for more chips. Nearly eating half of them! Salt and vinegar chips...that's our girl! Your dad and I used to eat these in all road trips.
It was your idea to wear the blue leggings under the dress, as well as the "sparkle shoes". At least you put your dress on after having a morning meltdown. Thank goodness you didn't do it at our friends house today!
Here's a picture of your egg hunts from yesterday! You two are ao spoiled!
It was a great weekend. You were surrounded by people who love you and spoil you rotten.
One of our conversations from the weekend went something like this.
Julia: Did Jesus die on the cross?
Me: Yes he did.
Julia: For our sins?
Me: Yes, because he loved everyone so much and he wanted them to be happy.
Julia: I don't want to die one the cross like Jesus
Me: Don't worry babe. He did it for you and for all of us...so we don't have to.
