Sledding

Now this was an adventure!

Some of the trips down turned into roll downs or face plants...but it was still fun and convenient to have a little snow snack.

I thought about taking you down the hill on my back...but then we decided it probably wasn't the best idea and went down feet first. However, we went sailing down and went over Jacob's darn speed bump that sent us flying!  We quit while we were ahead and before you ate too much snow!

You guys burned enough calories to have a not so healthy treat, even better, dinner. It may have not been your typical after sledding hot chocolate or a hot coffee for me. Instead, you convinced me to change my wet pants at home so that we could go inside and eat!

Our little Entertainer

  "What's dat, Jacob?"
"Dad can I help you?" How many times did we hear that?

"Mom, take my picture!"
My little model...where did you get that from? My most favorite is when you are my little assistant! You are so good with babies.
"Mom can I eat dis?" Whether it was snow, or frost from the freezer...you are all over it! "This is healthy?"
"Watch!" Usually repeated a hundred times!

I don't want to do that...melt down city!
Your bowling ball could have broken a world record for speed...as in the slowest  to ever make it down to the end. But when it began to get stuck, we had to get the dinosaur out!

  "Ok Karl, Ok Bud...

Always up for a game of chase with your brother

"I Want to go to Jen's house...now!" This is what i battled with this year. Some days to tears. You sure do love animals but really love to get your way!

Your sense of style has provided us with some stories...and I would have lost money if someone would have said that you would be begging to wear a dress to school and not your ugly clothes!

Today at indoor park, your expressions and understanding of kids made you wise beyond your years...but when you asked me how old you were going to be, well that just put you back into your little old self and shows just how much you have learned and need to learn.

There are so many other things I could write down to help me remember what you are like right now. Let's just say there will never be a dull day around you!
We love you, our little "toot squeak!"

Live, Laugh, Love

This week has been full of LIVING

Shopping with Grandma and Ang which feels like living to me and I love it

Julia sporting a couple birthday gifts from Aunt La. I will never get rid of this dress because it will always make us laugh! Julia how did your brother not notice you laughing under the table and the rest of us just laughing away? I guess that would explain why he didn't even notice me slipping the dress on him instead of one of his new sweatshirts!

Playing
From BINGO to hockey...you guys played it
Yes, I got in the middle of sword fight when it wasn't looking so pretty
Pa and grandma have been the best visitors!
My favorite was your version of wheel of fortune...
Category: Things that Jacob likes to do
_ _ _ _ _   _ _ _ _
When you made up the phrase and wanted to spin first you were too excited to solve the puzzle! You didn't even ask for a letter. You just shouted "catch bugs"  and you would have thought you won the jackpot!?
The next puzzle category was: things we like to do

Creating

It makes me want a bigger house to leave them out so you can keep coming back to your Lego creations.
We can't forget the debut puppet show after your birthday!
I haven't laughed that much in a long time. Not to mention all the things hat you have said to make everyone laugh the week of your 4th birthday!
My favorite from a couple weeks ago was your comment about buttering your roll.
Me: Julia, you don't need anymore Butter
You: it's not for me, it's for my roll

You two filled this week with so much laughter and love!
Jacob, I was most impressed with your improvement on the ice and your awareness to the game! We also had a good laugh at the 3 year old who just stood there and eventually laid down on the center ice during the game!
Fourth one in the ice (dad wasn't home yet) so I got you ready and there on time!

Oh and you both made it to Sunday school and had a good time!
So so thankful for this week. As Julia would say..."it was really, really good!"

4 years old

Decorating your cake was the best part of your birthday! The fact that it turned out and tasted good was a bonus!

It didn't take you long to get the hang of it.

When it came time for the actual doll to be placed in the cake you weren't okay with the legs coming off.

The only way we could snap you out of your disappointment  of having to take the legs off your Barbie was to let you open up a present! Thanks to Pa for saving the day on that one and being able to put the legs back on Barbie after the party!
Finished product, legs missing and all!

Notice the wardrobe change...even though you request a dress you don't wear everything that is in your closet.
So glad you had some "customers" at your birthday celebration. I wish I did a better job of capturing the moment and getting them all in the picture.
You and your brother doing what you do!

I hope your wish comes true our little petunia! I wish for many more birthdays together.

So when I hung balloons in your doorway for your birthday, I didn't expect to get your reaction to them at 3 in the morning. It went like this...
"What are those balloons doing there? Where is my puppet theatre? Mom I'm hungry...can I have some cereal and a drink. You never read the second book to me."
