Better each day in 2017

In January, you started the year off right! You were invited to come to Stephanie and Bill's New Years Day party!

Even though you were invited to listen to
the Jazz music, you were more interested in the kid party downstairs accompanied by the movie, The Little Rascals.

I think you both made it a goal to eat more snow in 2017! Good thing our house creates it's very own window ice on the inside!

My goal is to eat healthier; which means more fruits and veggies! So eating peas is more fun when you can hold them to the light and count the pods! 8 is the record so far!

I would love to get you guys in the kitchen more this year! So far you have helped with pancakes, crepes, dicing vegetables, made a ganache, and had a sandwich challenge!

Another goal, is to play more and less TV on days we can't get outside.
Julia, you are a pro at this, but the week of taking it easy, has got you wanting more tv or requesting movie nights every night! It might take a week of detox in February to get us back on track.

This year i would like to have more one on one time with each of you. It's hard to squeeze in time with you, Jacob and usually takes a bribe. Lucky for me, No school for you, meant the perfect chance to do it before we picked Julia up from preschool.

This month was the perfect month for bringing board games to life! I'd love to have a family game night. So far Candyland, puzzles, Operation, Battle Ship, snap circuits, Knex, Perler beads, and a couple of others have made it out of the game closet! Here's to many more!
Julia you laughed the whole time. You didn't cheat, you didn't get too upset when grandma beat you and you lasted the whole game. I'm so glad Jacob hasn't rubbed off on you in this category.

This week you got back on the ice after a two week absence. I should say you attacked the ice after a two week absence with a hat trick.
Not to mention on Saturday you made it to basketball and remained in constant motion the entire time. I would love to see Julia get involved with something. Dance, swimming, tball or piano...one of these will make each day better for her.

This month, we celebrated you for three days straight...and you crashed on the couch at 4:30. I didn't know 5 year old girls took naps. I'm pretty sure this tops your birthday last year...and you still might get to go out with aunt La and Uncle Agustin! Lucky girl.

You both have reached the age where you enjoy playing together. I just love that your brother was as interested in your birthday gifts as you were the first day. This month you love to chase each other and drive me and your dad crazy. But you also have played together and it's so nice to see!

There is always a calm before the storm, right?

Finally, we have found a perfect family time activity. Yesterday afternoon, you guys joined us in the swim spa! It was beyond wonderful. I look forward to many more of these!
