Remember when you guys were little and we would go to parks? Maybe I should have continued our Wednesday adventures after school because it would have forced you to hang out with me free of distractions from a lived in home and any neighbors in sight. Instead of adventures on Wednesday it was mostly entertaining your friends. Instead of packing up the snacks and nets to catch creatures, I was laying out the snacks on the counter and picking up the nets from the back yard.
So. This summer. I am demanding we have an adventure or two together each week. Without friends, without distractions, without screens, without fighting or bickering, but with time to talk, play and bond.
It got hot here already so our adventures won't last long. I'm ok with that. I'm just going to be thankful I get a little more time to enjoy life with you.
