1st Dentist appointment

Jacob,
You were so brave and curious today! I loved how you wanted to see everything that was going on. The best part was your sister got to see the whole thing and is always your biggest fan. It was pretty uneventful, but you managed to walk away with a stash of cleaning supplies for those cute pearly whites of yours. Surprisingly, Julia did not throw a fit when she didn't get a treat bag like you. It was a great day and wonderful reason to head to the library! We had the whole place to ourselves.

A quiet morning

Today was a day that I felt like my life might be getting a little easier. Both of you were playing alone, together, with me, together, and alone again. Everyone was happy...well except for when Julia took a tumble off the train table because she wasn't patient enough for Jacob to stop playing and catch her. At least I intervened before Jacob had her standing on top of the vanity to check out her ouchie.

I made arrangements for Kayla to come and thought about canceling and just let Jacob watch tv while I got some work done...but I'd say Kayla was worth the 25$ to hear you run, scream, laugh and play for 2 hrs.

It was such a quiet morning I was ready for it all to end abruptly. However, Julia took a long nap and Jacob was entertained by the letter app on the iPad. Surely, it wouldn't continue to be that easy at the basketball game, right.

Let's just say we were at the last basketball game , but the last game we saw was on Sunday! Squirrly, squirrelly and squirrly. You two couldn't sit still for nothing!

What to write about???

Friday afternoon I left for Des Moines,
which meant dad was in charge. I don't know every detail of what happened while I was away, but I will post a few pictures to document the amount of detail that was spent on decorations!

Hibernating in 2014

So what have we been doing with this painfully cold winter besides sleeping? Here's a glimpse of some of our days inside.

Who can beat all of the reading that's been going on? We just need to change the venue from time to time. Some if our favorite books right now are, Big Red Barn, Little Critter series and mostly any book that gets pulled from the shelf. We love getting new books for .50 cents at the library!

Indoor snow play with colored water has been a favorite. Occasionally there has been some PiƱa Colada syrup added to "fresh" snow. Mostly it's been scooping out muffins or hiding things in the mounds.

Although I try to limit tv, sometimes it's just easier. I don't watch anything anymore because I usually turn it on and walk away. Depending on what was on last will determine the audience. For the most part we are safe with PBS but have found a new love for Doc McStuffins, and Peppa Pig.

We can't forget writing and drawing time...check out this bed head! His names look great but I can hardly get past the hair!

We will never forget the break jn weather that allowed us to get to Grundy:)

Jacobisms at age 4

"That's my new favorite song."

Telling Dad something about making it so dad didn't have to go to work anymore

"Julia's my buddy, I love you."

"When it's sunny." (the next day)

"Is it tomorrow now?"

"After breakfast..."(any time we eat)
