Andy, sweet boy!

Andy has been the best dog a family could ask for. He will be 13 this week and he has changed in ways for the better. Instead of eating our important tax documents we find him chewing on the wooden puzzle pieces or plastic play figures. Instead of running from small children he closes in and tolerates a quick hug from Jacob and Julia. He still stalks me in the kitchen whenever he catches a wiff of dinner...I guess that hasn't changed. I'm the one whose changed because I'm a little more patient because my kitchen is 4 times the size. Instead of hopping In our bed, he hops in Jacob's bed because our children have filled in his spots in our bed.

I love how Julia is talking more and more, which means Andy has to listen to her commands to sit for a long time until she is pleased with who knows what.
Julia is so tickled when Andy comes inside with snow on his nose. She quickly makes a very loud request for a towel to wipe it off. I love it when she laughs and scrunched up her nose and says "Andy."

Jacob is so into Andy. He now lets Andy outside and is quick to get him bones from inside the bench. Jacob doesn't want Andy to go to heavens because he is his dog and he's not ready for him to go.
The other day Jacob was talking to our neighbor Kathleen and was telling her that Andy is getting old, and when we get a new dog we should name it Thumper, like the bunny rabbit in Bambi.
