Take me out to the ballgame

What a gorgeous night! Your dad did a great job on finding the right seats and you both did a great job finding the parrot, cotton candy and your way on Grandpa's lap for most of the game!  Oh, and you even passed on a cheap hat souvenir and scored a free batting practice ball from an usher! I'd have to say I've trained you well.

Your dad will probably remember the fact that you, Jacob, missed the fireworks after a home run. I'll never forget the whole night. You and your grandpa were cheering on the players, you went for a parrot hunt with your dad, and allowed grandpa to spoil you by meeting your demands for a pretzel, popcorn and cotton candy. We stayed until they sang take me out to the ballgame and then we loaded up the overstuffed bags with a baseball given to you by an usher.
Julia you were scared of the parrot, dipped your fingers in our beer, ate the spicy cheese dip, wore your brother's old pirate hat and pajama top, and listened to us fairly well.

Lil slugger

This spring we have spent a lot of time throwing you pitches as you continue to rip balls right at us. You pull the inside pitches, go with the outside pitches and usually crush the ones right down the middle. It's fun seeing you get excited to play...but we are not in a hurry to sign you up for t-ball. Next up for the summer is getting you to play catch with a left handed glove.

Pittsburgh

It was so much fun to take you guys up Mt. Washington today! This is only the beginning of sight seeing trips, and I'm thinking we need to get them in while you are young and actually want to do things with us!
Julia was even impressed with the tunnel and the "boom" when we came out and were greeted with the Pittsburgh skyline and a river zigzagged with yellow bridges.

Later on we headed towards the ballpark and were hoping to catch some outdoor music like we did a couple years back. No luck on the music. Just some birds that were willing to be chased by three little boys who had extra energy to burn!

Memorial Day fun

Can't get much better than this! Chickens, eggs, birds in a nest, quad races, tractors and motorcycles. Jacob you weren't one bit shy at all today, while Julia it's really ok for you to warm up to people...but sometimes I see your point.
Today Jacob squealed loud enough to be heard over the sound of the engine on the quad, and Julia you screamed like it was the end of the world when dad hopped on the quad without you!
Overall, it was nice visiting family and we had our share of favorite treats too, thanks to your Aunt Renee.

Man, I love my kids:)

All craziness aside...I just love you guys. Relaxing and enjoying the moment doesn't always come so easily. But when it does it usually involves you listening to my requests and/or just having fun with life!
I'd say this was a pretty good start to our visit to Beaver. If we counted all the train spotting attempts we've had since you could say choo choo, they wouldn't even come close to the amount of trains we saw today! We lost count after 7 and can't believe we saw barges and boats as well:) Oh happy day!
