Your dad and I have always loved a garden. I'm not sure if we love to harvest it for ourselves or to share with others. Now that we have you two little "healty" eaters, it's all about the experience and the harvesting with you! Growing up, my Papa was the one with the garden. My parents said that when he gave me a tomato plant when I was your age, I insisted that it came to bed with me that night. I don't really remember much of my childhood, but I can remember tastes and smells from certain occasions quite vividly. One of those smells is that of my Nanny and Papa's garage. It was the mix of dried dill and cardboard boxes full of ripe tomatoes, onions, kohlrabi, and cucumbers. Needless to say, I grew up loving tomatoes and fresh vegetables.
Now your dad's experience with gardens growing up is another story and another couple paragraphs. You'll have to ask him about it some day...but I'm pretty sure a lot of what he does with you is what he did growing up!
