I can't help to smile when I see a tetherball pole for many reasons. I can still hear the clang of the chain and feel the burn of the rope as it wrapped around my wrist a few times back in elementary school. But what makes me laugh is how badly I beat your dad while playing it nearly a decade ago! Maybe he let me beat him, but I'm pretty sure he didn't.
Anyhow it was fun to see you two take to it and it makes me wonder what you will be doing at recess and who you will be playing with. I only hope that I can send you to school well equipped with all the academics and social skills you'll need; but also with the coordination to blast a kick ball or two, the aim to win a couple games of 21, the strength to climb to the highest point of the playground, and the toughness to have fun and enjoy it all!
I'm so glad I get to stay at one and play with you!
