In January...
You started HOCKEY
and you were just getting as comfortable with reading and writing as you were with your ice skates
Julia turned only 4? How can that be?
Dad attempted to make you an ice rink and take you ice fishing
In February....
Dad introduced you, Julia, to strawberry milkshakes.
In March...
We enjoyed an exciting end to our UNI panthers
We got to share our favorite Spring Break getaway with your cousins and aunts and uncles. Julia you still talk about the place you walked to for lunch and the day we all took our family pictures on the beach. How did I not get one family picture of us?
In April...
We had a great Easter where your sister knocked your tooth out in the bouncy house
Someone got to enjoy her time as a dancer
and I got to enjoy a day to myself in NOLA and a couple days with Dad
and if it wasn't for a moment on the way home where your dad and I actually got to talk to each other for a moment without any interruptions, we were able to start the journey to our new address!
In May...
We made it all the way to Pittsburgh and saw the Penguins play
1/8/17 Today in the car you stated that you wish you could meet Sydney Crosby, which makes this experience all the more special
Enjoyed the convenience of a carnival across the street from our hotel and some time with more cousins
In June...
Dad taught his summer school class, while I avoided packing by going to St. Louis! We beat the heat and had a great time going to Grant's Farm. Jacob, you spent your time skooching down the side of the pond with the highest of high hopes of catching a frog...and you/WE did!
oh and we moved
you caught your first fish at our house and didn't request to leave the house to go fishing all summer (or you did and we ignored you)
In July...
we waited for the rain to stop! at the end of the month our spa was delivered
In August...
We said good bye to Uncle Chuck and you guys got to experience your first float trip with the Schulte boys. Those two days left a lasting impression on you two. I am so glad my fear of floating didn't keep you from a great memory.
Lucky for us, the most fitting neighbors live the closest to us and even decided to share a bus stop with you. So far so good!
In September...
We had a couple adventures as a family. We loved our trip to go see Jackie Greene, but I'm pretty sure you would say you loved your time with Herman even more.
In October...
We may have collected more pumpkins than we could carve. Next year we will have to grow our own! Both of you demonstrated your ability to take this holiday into your own hands.
Your costume went from a ghost to Ash the character from Pokemon. While Julia, you went from wearing last year's costume to going with a theme!
Did I mention Christmas already started in October? We love having visitors who spoil you!
Is this when your idea for a carnival for a party became serious?!
In November...
We enjoyed the wonderful weather and our pond. It was clear and perfect!
Dad enjoyed his surgery and all the extra attention I gave him! I wish. Hopefully, he recovers in time for Spring
In December...
We celebrated one more day of you and fulfilled one last request. We had a couple friends over from your class to play and trade cards.
We celebrated an IOWA WHITE Christmas then dashed down to St. Louis
where you enjoyed celebrating it with your cousins by playing with them for four days and you managed to lose tooth number 3
We rang in the new year with some friends and are so so thankful for a happy and healthy 2016.
Watch out 2017! God willing, we plan to make each day count and make it better than the last.
