Skipping School and Sledding

On the Thursday before Christmas we decided it was more important to celebrate Christmas Eve in Iowa as a family than watch a movie at school. You happily skipped school and happily went sledding and snowboarding, thanks to an early gift from Grandma Lois.

After going down the hill, you were "so scared" when your sled went sideways...I don't hear that too often from you!

Your sister was another story. After sledding down the hill successfully (the sled remained in the proper position) she gained quite the distance, right into the cattails. Unfortunately, more than a mouthful of "feathers" caused her to gag and throw up all over the bottom of the sled. Lucky for me most of it was dragged off of the bottom as she climbed up the side. Needless to say she wasn't crazy about the infestation of feathers that covered her from head to toe.



We decided to go to UNI to test out the new snowboards. Jacob, you were determined to make it all the way to the sidewalk. Julia, you were determined to eat your weight in snow.
All in all, it was a fun way to spend time together and get ready for a cozy night together on the couch watching one last Christmas movie.
