Our Special Helper and Tired Kindergartener

Today you were the special helper at school and made going to school seem like no big deal! Today after dropping the snacks off a parent was amazed that I could leave you without walking you in and saying good-bye. I guess  I didn't think much of it because you are just following in your brother's footsteps. You see, Jacob made dropping him off  very easy. He still continues to do that by hopping on the bus every morning!

Now we have to be ok with him being gone so long. In fact, I had a hard time driving through town and being closer to his school knowing that it would be another four hours that we would see him.

So I...Now don't tell anyone that I had to park outside of Jacob's playground after picking you up from school because I caught a glimpse of little kids running around. Sure enough, we saw a flash of red run by holding two girls hands. Not the Jacob color I'm use to seeing or the playmates I would have suspected him to play with. He looked happy nonetheless, which made me happy. It was pretty cute when you yelled out to him. Thankfully he didn't hear you...who knows what he would have done if he saw us!

Anyway, my first day of time to myself went fast! As well as the rest of the day that we had together before Jacob got home.
Your brother came home happy and starving. While I was making his food you got to tell him about your special chair and who you sat by. You showed him your nails that we painted and he actually said, "that's nice" and you replied "thank you." It's amazing how polite you two can be to each other at times.

Here's a sample of the first of many papers to come out of your backpacks. Your brother was so proud to march up the stairs to share it with me. How lucky for your dad to be in the illustration with the place where you guys became hooked on fishing!
Love it!
