My cherry tree is beginning to make lots of people happy. We harvested enough to make a couple batches of beer, and scored a cherry pie and 2 pints of jam! That's my kind of tree...I found people who like to use them and then they share the goods.
We planted this tree several years ago and last week you were doing exactly what I use to do when I was a little girl!
CLIMB, PICK and eat! Unfortunately the limbs aren't big enough for you to climb out on and be able to reach the cherries on the end. However, it gave you the quick thrill and the courage and the feeling as though you were really helping.
Instead of counting on your help, we hired a babysitter to play with and chase you. It was fun listening to you laugh while picking cherries with dad. I was dreaming of pie, jam and beer the whole time!
