A view of the playground

What will your kindergarten day be like for you?

I will miss the little window I have had the privilege of looking through these past 6 years. Looking through the window on your life began moments after you were born and taken to the nursery. It continued when I took you with me to teach and dropped you off in your infant and toddler room. Some days on my breaks I would go to the other side of the building to a window to watch you play from above. My day was even better when I walked my class past your room and caught a glimpse of you sitting at the table that was just your size. Those windows don't compare to the time I spend with you and the adventures we have taken. But at the time they were the only chance I had to sneak a peek of you during the work day and some days it's what got me through.
Next week the window I will see you through will be that of a bus. I think in ready for that view. I know as of late my patience is dwindling and I feel like you are tuning mom rules out so I'm ready for that view. However, I will miss the view that we have shared since I have been home with you and your sister.
I'll miss the view from my rear view mirror with you singing or chewing on your lunch to go. I'll miss the view out my kitchen window of you swinging in the swing mid morning just before it gets too hot. I'll miss the view from our kitchen to the family room of you and your sister playing on the floor, wrestling, sneaking a tv show, lying on the top of the couch in the sun, playing the piano or just turning the music controls to repeat your favorite songs over again.
It will be interesting to see what we do with our time after school and before it is time for bed. I hope it is just enough time to give us all what we need. A Jacob fix I'm sure!
I pray that this new adventure for you is filled with everything you need to make it fun. I can't wait to watch you grow academically, socially, and extra curricularly. I hope you love school as much as I loved it, and you are known by all as the nicest boy in town.
I can't wait to hear all about your day...

Here's a glimpse of what your recess might look like during the school year minus a couple months for the frigid temps.
