Kindergarten here you come!

Kindergarten here we come, or not! You two take forever to get anywhere these days. Therefore we are practicing waking up early to ensure that we have plenty of time to catch the bus...come 8:00 next week.
On the way into school tonight, you guys stopped to check out the acorns. It's like we were going on one of our acorn hunts and were blown away by the amount of perfectly shaped ones with the caps still in tact.
Instead of an acorn hunt, we completed the classroom hunt as we dropped off your supplies and said hello to your teacher. It was really no big deal. You weren't nervous at all and Julia was recognizing all sorts of kiddos for you.
If I was looking to have a good feeling about your year...I got one. Now I'm just holding my breath and praying that you will be the kind little boy that I know. The one that teachers others and is patient. The one that uses his manners and includes everyone (and keeps his comments to himself).
Now I totally know why my parents enforced respect for my teachers and didn't get too bent out of shape with performance and academics. I'm sure your dad and I will do the same.

We concluded our night with an unsuccessful frog adventure, melted ice cream cones, popcorn and a movie. Now let's go have some family fun in Wisconsin!
